BARNS
and OUTBUILDINGS
We
supplement our work in contemporary architecture with a variety
of interests including the preservation and restoration of local
buildings. They dot the landscape of our region but hold no particular
historic distinction other than being wonderful visual recordings
of our history. Unfortunately, many are gradually being knocked
down as regional growth threatens to erode the few footprints
of history that remain from the era of westward expansion. Some
of these old farmsteads still carry the names of the original
homesteading claims. We enjoy this aspect of preservation, finding
creative ways to contribute a few more years to the life of a
an old building and the region's memory.
