SMALL HOUSE BATHROOM

This bathroom was added to a small farm house that is used as a guest house for visiting family members. The little house was renovated and upgraded with a contemporary bathroom. The parallels between the simple vernacular traditions in building and farm living when the house was built in the early 1900ís to replace the homestead cabin and the language of a modern austere, minimalist bathroom are not at all at odds but rather work together nicely. The sink fixture is adapted from repurposed stainless-steel fittings liberated from a junk heap at the scrap yard. The shower and sink faucets are repurposed Swedish Vola units of long-lasting brass as well as the head and wand, all from the 1960ís.
