DAN ROCKHILL

Dan Rockhill is the J L Constant Distinguished Professor of Architecture at the University of Kansas. In addition to the varied work of Rockhill and Associates he is the founder and director of Studio 804 Inc. Each year he guides student in the architecture program at the University of Kansas as they design and build a project. They started out doing small houses and studios. Since they have grown to produce a string of LEED Platinum and Passive House Institute US Certified buildings that are commonly targeted for net zero energy use. They have not only built houses but completed educational facilities and a community building for tornado ravaged Greensburg, Kansas. See the work of Studio 804 at www.studio804.com

DAVID SAIN

David Sain is a licensed architect and designer who is also an experienced builder with extensive hands-on experience in many areas of construction and fabrication. He has worked with Dan Rockhill and Rockhill and Associates since 1988. He also assists with the work of Studio 804 when needed. In addition he is the owner of Sain Works, a fabrication shop that works on small scale custom assemblies.

Sain is an adjunct lecturer at the University of Kansas and teaches Arch 626 Building Technology I: Construction Systems and Assemblies and Arch 627 Building Technology II: The Culture of Building Technology.
