HILLCREST HOUSE

The clients wanted a tall house to occupy a hilltop location with multiple layers of up/down and in/out spaces not unlike the farms they both grew up on in western Kansas. We fit the building amongst the site’s established trees that had surrounded house that had been demolished. The exterior cladding is regionally quarried Kansas limestone. The tower at the heart of the building acts as links between the public area used for entertaining and private realms of offices and bedrooms. It has a operable cover to allowed for a shaded deck during day and view to the sky at night for stargazing with a telescope
