LOLOMAS SENIOR HOUSING

The city of Clovis, New Mexico found itself with a shortage of low cost housing for a aging working class population. This project was seen as a safer alternative to the mobile home parks that were being were becoming ubiquitous. It is an infill project close to amenities while also being affordable. Using the Green Communities Initiative it responds to the environment and the community in many ways; including a reduction in the consumption of resources, construction waste to a landfill and the use of fossil fuels. The result is a healthy living community that promotes a cleaner environment and the reduction of utility costs. The development exceeded HUD affordability criteria with all of the units set aside for households earning 60% or less of the Median Family Income for the area.
